Firmware 2.2 iPhone/iPod touch emoji enable (no jailbreak need)
1) download the vcard.vcf at following:
(I think email method may be better for win and mac, so I removed itune sync method)
2) insert vcard.vcf in email and sent it to a account. Use iPhone to open the email and get the file.

3) Select the vcard.vcf in email and click “add all 27 contact information items” at iPhone

4) enable “Japanese QWERTY keyboard” (Setting => General => Keyboard => International Keyboard => Japanese => Japanese QWERTY keyboard => switch ON)

5) Use the keyboard and type “emojia”, “emojii” or “emojiu” to select different set of emoji characters, a row of characters will insert into application. You may delete some unwanted characters to complete edit.

Why don’t you just send it via email? Then you can download the file/contacts directly from the iPhone Mail app.
I can’t open the vgard from the email in my itouch. It says no card. An error occured during reading this file. Any reasons why? Any ideas how to fix it?

I have a problem:
After I added the vcard to the iphone contacts and want to sync with iTunes it takes forever.
I tryed to add them to the Adress Book and to sync them to the iPhone and erase the contacts on the iPhone but this also takes forever.
Does somebody else have this problem?
Is there a solution to this?

yeah, thanks to you I finally found where to enable my Emojis. At the moment I´m in Japan with an Italian iPhone and a softbank SIM Card.
Under Japanese keyboards there is an “Emoji” Keyboard.

Now to find a solution that all this stuff not will sync to my computer
